My Chiropractic Story

 

I was attending the Puyallup fair in September and took advantage of a free evaluation and offer for an exam and x-rays. Since I had been experiencing increased pain in my neck, shoulders and back, as well as numbness in my left hand and down the left side of my leg, I knew that my regular doctor wasn’t able to treat it and over-the-counter pain relief wasn’t the answer. I’ve been really excited with the progress I’m experiencing, because the pain has been practically eliminated and I feel more rested in the morning, have almost no headaches and feel more energy during the day. I’ve noticed the indigestion I was having has even improved. Best of all, I really feel like the icing has been a bonus. It feels so good! Thanks Dr. Colin and everyone at Universal Chiropractic.

My Chiropractic Story

 

I responded to a promotional offer, thinking I really didn’t need chiropractic care. I was curious as to what it was all about. So I skeptically made the appointment and kept it. I learned that my spine had two real trouble areas, my neck and lower back. After some discussion with my husband, we decided that I would give it a try.

 

After the first adjustment, the pain in my lower back that would come and go (I put up with it thinking it was normal, due to getting older) was gone! Also I was able to turn my head to either side with great ease and no pain. Then there are my ears. They are itchy and runny continually, due to allergies. I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist who told me to stop manipulating my ears. Which I gladly would have done if my ears didn’t bother me so much. So this too I just put up with for several years. Then I went to an Allergist who tested me and put me on allergy shots. This helped some, but I had to put alcohol in my ears then blow dry them daily. I still had the same problems with my ears. So several years later I turned to a Naturopath who put me on a couple of herbs and Vitamin C, to help my allergies, which worked the best of them all. But I still had trouble with my ears being wet and itchy.

 

After the first month of adjustments I noticed that my ears were NOT WET nor did they ITCH. So after 15 years filled with over-the-counter drugs, many prescriptions of Claritin and Allegra, allergy shots and herbal remedies my years are dry and non-itchy. I tell you it is a wonderful thing to have my ears be dry. I am so very glad that I decided to receive chiropractic care.

Hello! I am a patient at Universal Chiropractic Center. I came in because of depression and hip problems. I went to doctors looking for a cure; none to be found. So I decided to try chiropractic care and now I am feeling back to myself again. My spirit is back. My Chiropractic Story

 

Eight years ago I hurt my back but didn’t know what to do. As time went on I started having small symptoms: a pain down my leg and sore back muscles. These symptoms progressed and I found myself in the doctor’s office. After tests, x-rays and specialist, I was told I had a slipped disk. They prescribed heat packs, muscle relaxants and stretching. The pain subsided, but didn’t go away.

 

Later, I hurt my back again. Once more in the doctor’s office, I was again given muscle relaxants. This time the pain didn’t go away. I was in pain, scared and didn’t know what to do. Someone suggested I see a chiropractor. I had been skeptical of chiropractic care. How could pain be cured without drugs? But, I was desperate for relief.

 

The care I received was unreal. An exam revealed more problems than I know I had. The doctor explained what caused my pain and why the doctors before him couldn’t heal the problem. He told me he wouldn’t give me drugs, but he would prescribe ice. Then came the adjustments. A simple applied force was used to move a mis-aligned vertebrae; my pain disappeared. All the medication I had been taking never took my pain away but with his hands, my pain left as if he told it to.

 

Sadly, I had to stop going due to me moving. It had been over two years when I came to Universal Chiropractic Center. It has been a long road to get back to where I was two years before. Universal has been wonderful in their care. I know the doctors healing had will be able help me and ultimately my body to heal and be healthy.

 

Once I had been skeptical of chiropractors, but now I have complete faith in chiropractic care. It sounds strange that hands can heal without drugs, but the proof is real and overwhelming.

My Chiropractic Story

 

Three months after I was diagnosed the Meniere’s Disease, I was experiencing Vertigo spells and Tinnitus. It also had been six years since I had seen a chiropractor. My daughter and I had a free exam and x-rays for Universal Chiropractic Center in February of 2002. It was the best non-drug prescription I so desperately needed. Within the next two weeks my Tinnitus became quieter and I hadn’t had any Vertigo. I could sleep better and the tingling in my arms went away. Over the next nine months my visits minimized to once a month. I was drug free, symptom free and feeling great! After all the tests and visits to the medical doctors, I needed not to go back. In December of 2002 I missed my appointment and time got away from me. Before I knew it, it was June. I started to have pressure build up in my temples and louder ringing in my ears. Then one morning I woke up with the Vertigo. Over the next month it continued to get worse. I called Universal Chiropractic and scheduled an appointment. Now I am back on track and feeling functional. I don’t want to feel like that again, especially when I didn’t know when the spells would come on.

 

Thanks to Dr. Colin I can maintain a healthy lifestyle by taking care of myself and my family, as well as benefit from chiropractic care.

My Chiropractic Story

 

Late last august I was in a care accident and was taken to the hospital and released with three different pain medications. After follow up care with my regular doctor I was referred to physical therapy, which I attended until October. I was then told to continue to do my exercises, take medications as needed, and it would take a year to heal.

 

Since the accident, I have gotten high blood pressure, became depressed, gained 50 pounds, my gums became inflamed, I lost energy, had terrible headaches, back pain, and neck pain.

 

Someone recommended in early May that I try chiropractic. I was skeptical but gave Universal Chiropractic Center a try.

 

As of today, I am 23 pounds lighter; my blood pressure went from 140/90 on medication to 112/78. My teeth were cleaned this morning and my gums had improved greatly form a #5 to a #2. I also have more energy, far fewer headaches and more mobility in my neck. An added benefit was that a menstrual irregularity problem which I had for over three years suddenly cleared up and I am back on a regular schedule.

 

Sure I still have bad days, but my life has greatly improved and I am thankful to the friend who suggested I give chiropractic care a try. My husband and two children now get regular adjustments also.

My Chiropractic Story

 

I would like to share my chiropractic experience with anybody who is apprehensive about having their children treated. Imagine this, a three-year-old girl, plagued by recurrent ear and bladder infections, unable to control her bladder for more than an hour or so. She was miserable. I must admit, I also was. One week after stating treatment, she was a complete changed child, happy social, no accidents, sleeping better, everything about her had improved. I am so glad that I brought her in when I did. Time will tell if she stays this way, but I am convinced that chiropractic care has everything to do with it! Thanks Universal Chiropractic Center!

My Chiropractic Story

 

I’ve had several health issues over the past several years. My back didn’t really hurt much, but I was suffering many strange things which doctors couldn’t explain. About 8 years ago my metabolism raced sky high causing me to lose about 20-25 pounds, which I really could not lose. I stopped all exercise and ate tons of junk food, but I could not gain weight. You might say, “I wish I had that problem,” but you really don’t. I became so weak and light headed and then I started having bowel problems. Unexplained abdominal cramps led to diarrhea. My doctor sent me in for a series of painful and embarrassing tests, all which came up negative. He concluded that I must have “Irritable Bowel Syndrome”, since he could not find anything wrong with me and gave me some medicine. I also experienced periodic heart pain and sharp pains in my chest that felt like I was having a heart attack. I was in my 20’s, underweight and had low cholesterol. They ran an EKG test and found that my heart was fine. Nothing was found through the tests so he diagnosed me with “Esophageal Inflammation”, gave me a prescription and sent me home.

 

Four years ago I started getting chronic sinus infections. They teated it with antibiotics and allergy medication and they sent me home, once again. Nothing seemed to be helping, so I asked to see an allergists and find out what I was allergic to. Through painful testing, I tested negative to all molds, pollens, dust and pets. So then they did a CT scan of my sinus cavities and sent me to a surgeon to be analyzed. The surgeon told me he could perform a very painful surgery with a 50% chance relief from sinus infections. I elected not to have the surgery.

 

Another issue I dealt with was depression. I felt suicidal but didn’t know why. Everything in my life was fine, but I could not feel happiness. I tried to hide it, but it was overwhelming. My doctor said that my brain was not producing enough serration, so he could put me on Prozac. I felt better on the medicine but was afraid I would become dependent on it for the rest of my life, so I stopped taking all medication and tried to cope.

 

I went to Universal Chiropractic Center after hearing from others that chiropractic care could help other areas other than your back. They took some x-rays on me and asked if I had been in an accident, which I had not. I had do idea my back was so out of whack.

 

I started chiropractic care about 2 months ago and have already seen improvement in many areas. I no longer have chest pains. I have gained about 10 pounds and believe it or not, my hair and fingernails have started growing more quickly. I no longer have daily abdominal pain and I haven’t had a sinus infection since. My appetite has improved and I’m not depressed and I feel like a new person. I now know how it feels to be “normal”.

My Chiropractic Story

 

My name is Shannon M. I came to Universal Chiropractic Center for my back condition. Well, my son, Terry, hopped up on the table and said, “I want to do it too!” He is five years old. I never thought chiropractic care was for children.

 

Since we have been coming, I have noticed some big changes in Terry. He used to wake up all hours of the night and come into bed with me. He is now sleeping all night long and even later in the morning. He’s not tired and cranky like before. He has a lot more energy now and he’s only in 4 times. Another thing I noticed is that Terry has always been al light eater, nit-picks at his food and never really are a whole meal. Since he has been coming to see the chiropractor, Terry has been eating good meals of roast, potatoes, biscuits, and vegetables. He’s never done that. I believe it is because of his adjustments, he’s ready to eat and his stomach doesn’t hurt anymore.

 

Terry looks forward to his visits Universal. He gets upset if I go while he’s at school because if I go twice in one day, he thinks he should too. I think this is very good for children. It’s been great for all of us, Terry especially. He is a very healthy child, but now he’s a happy and healthy child. Thank you for this!!

My Chiropractic Story

 

I started coming to Universal Chiropractic Center in September of 1998 because of some neck and back problems I was having. I was experiencing numbness and pain. He explained very thoroughly my problems to me and started me on a treatment plan right away. I missed an appointment right after I started coming here due to a migraine headache. I have had migraines for about 20 years. I have tried every available over-the-counter and prescription drugs for migraines. Nothing helped! The doctor explained to me that the problems in my spine were causing my migraines. They disappeared almost completely after about two weeks of treatment. I will ever be grateful.

My Chiropractic Story

 

Normally I hang up on anyone trying to sell a product or service over the telephone. In early December, I was home with my kids when the phone rang and someone offered me a free introductory visit to Universal Chiropractic. The voice on the other end was friendly and polite, however, and didn’t get rattled when I barked, “Who is this, and what do you want?” Besides, my back had been hurting, so I figured, what could it hurt just to go to the free consultation and find out what I could?

 

Besides back pain, I had been getting about three migraine headaches a week for about three or four weeks up to that time. I never considered seeing a doctor about them; because I had grown up having frequent headaches, I just popped a couple of Tylenol or Advil and carried on the best I could. The increased frequency of the headaches was beginning to wear me down, though I probably would have sought out treatment for them on my own, if I had not received that phone call.

 

Another problem was at night; if I slept on my stomach (my favorite position) my legs went numb. If I slept on my side, both arms went numb. I couldn’t get used to sleeping on my back, although I found out later that is the best position to sleep in.

 

I’d heard mixed reports about chiropractors and was apprehensive about whether this was legitimate, or even safe, form of healing. Dr. Colin was pretty confident that by making adjustments to my vertebrae, getting the bones into alignment so the nerves could function properly, my back pain and headaches would go away. The idea of treating the root cause of the problem, and not just taking drugs for the pain appealed to me, so I decided to give it a try.

 

After about three weeks of adjustments, my headaches started coming far less frequently. And now, after 4 months of adjustments, I can say with assurance that my back feels much better because of the adjustments. I have increase range of motion, and I sleep better. I still get an occasional headache, but in general I feel a whole lot better, younger and stronger. I am glad I tried chiropractic treatment. It has made a big difference in how I feel.

My Chiropractic Story

 

I went to the Monroe fairgrounds to watch my sister ride her horse. I went to the free screening at the fairgrounds to see what may be causing my headaches and right arm going to sleep. I have never been anywhere to get help for my back, I never thought my back had any problems. I started going to the chiropractor to get help for what was causing the pain in my arm and my headaches. My right arm would go to sleep while I was driving my car and I would get very bad headaches all the time. Since I have been going to the chiropractor, my arm doesn’t go to sleep and I don’t have the headaches!

My Chiropractic Story After two months of visiting the doctor’s office seven different times, doctors concluded that Sydney, our 15 month old, had what you call toddler diarrhea. We felt that there was something more to this situation than concluding that she was going to live with constant diarrhea everyday.

 

Amazingly after just one adjustment Sydney had regular bowel movement that night. She has been very successful and needs continual adjustments because of her risk taking toddler age.

 

Sydney isn’t the only one with a success story. My other daughter has been troubled with stomach pains for years. Since her adjustments she has had no complaints at all. As a baby she had colic, I only wish I had her adjusted back then.

 

Mike, my husband, has worn a lift in his shoe for years. Since he started going to Universal Chiropractic Center about six months ago, he is more satisfied with his overall physical health. His back has gotten stronger, and his leg length has been leveled through pelvic adjustments. He no longer needs his lift, and has thrown it out.

 

Lastly, I too am pleased with my care. X-rays showed I had some need for adjustments in my neck. I am finding this is a process for my neck to heal back to a more healthy position. Since my adjustments my psoriasis has also cleared up, and overall I feel I am in better health.

 

As a family we are very happy with our health care through chiropractic adjustments.
